EV Charging Cost Calculator

If you are charging your electric vehicle at home, the costs will vary depending on your energy tariff and whether you are charging during the day or overnight, in off-peak hours. However, on average it costs around £2.40 to charge an electric vehicle for 100 miles.

According to research by Which, updated in October 2022, large electric SUVs can cost between 12p to 14.2p per mile (or £975 to £1,150 over a year) to charge from home, with the least efficient car they have trialed (the Mercedes Benz EQV) costing 16.9p per mile to charge from home. Generally, smaller and lighter EVs cost less to charge from home (from just 9.1p per mile for the smallest electric vehicles on the market in the UK, like the Hyundai Kona Electric).
