EV Charging options
Public charging stations in the UK can have a charging power up to 43kW (depending on station and grid capability), whereas home charging stations are restricted to 22kW if the property has a three-phase electricity supply, or 7.4kW if you have a single-phase electricity supply.
The average home charger will take between four and eight hours to fully charge an electric vehicle. This ranges depending on the size of the battery in the vehicle and the speed of the charger. Charging a car at a public charging station can be much faster, with some rapid charging stations taking just 30 minutes to give an additional 200 miles of range (but costing up to £1/kWh to do so!)
