EV Chargers for Home

EV Chargers for home users.

Why invest in an EV charger for the home?

Investing in an EV charger for your home can provide a number of benefits. An EV charger allows you to charge your electric vehicle at home, avoiding the need to visit public charging stations and wait for charge times – which can vary from half an hour to 8 hours plus, depending on the speed of the charging stations.

In addition, faster charge times provided by Level 2 chargers allow you to get a full charge in significantly less time than with a standard Level 1 charger (which uses a 120-volt AC plug and can be simply plugged into a standard electrical outlet), the basic tool that comes with many EVs, which charges up to 2.3kW per hour – the equivalent of around 4-5 miles of range every hour – and may take over a day to fully charge your EV.

EV charging points are also cost-effective: In the UK, a typical charge at home costs around 34p per kWh — that’s around £13 to charge a Nissan Leaf from empty to full. Depending on your electricity tariff, this is generally far cheaper than filling up your car with petrol or diesel.

Finally, an EV charger for your home can increase your home’s value, providing potential buyers with a convenient charging option if they purchase your home.
